What is the "Car Cartel"?

It was an illegal agreement between car manufacturers and sellers to raise prices.

During the period of activity of the car cartel, consumers who purchased a vehicle or used an after-sales service paid more than they would have under normal market conditions.

The compensation for damages in the car cartel claim aims to quantify the overcharge or extra cost imposed on the consumer.

Who is entitled to claim compensation?

You will be entitled to claim if you have had any commercial transaction by purchasing a vehicle between February 2006 and July 2013, and your commercial distributor is included in the list of companies sanctioned by the National Commission of Markets and Competition.

In such a case, consumers can claim between 2,000 and 9,000 euros (approximately), which is the extra cost caused by these anti-competitive practices that allowed a price increase of more than 10%.

Owners of large car fleets, taxi drivers, VTC companies, and leasing companies can also claim.
