Have you been included in a credit blacklist?
Some people are unaware that they have been included in a credit blacklist until the moment they apply for financing for a purchase or sign up for a service.
This practice is common among credit card companies, banks, telephone companies, and other services.
However, in most cases, the debt that these companies report to the blacklist is incorrect, and they often do not meet all the requirements for inclusion.
Why have I been included in a credit blacklist?
First of all, for us to be included in these lists, the debt must meet certain requirements:
It must be overdue;
It must be liquid and payable, meaning it is a determined amount, and its payment cannot be refused according to law;
That the debtor has been reliably informed that they will be included in a blacklist.
If the legal requirements for inclusion in credit blacklists are not met, the affected individual suffers a serious infringement on their right to honor, and they can request compensation ranging from €1,000 to €12,000, considering factors such as the time they have been improperly listed, the companies that have requested information about the affected person, and in general, based on the harm caused by this situation, for example, being denied a loan due to being on such a list.
It is important to highlight that the compensation amount claimed is not proportional to the debt for which they have been included in the blacklist, and in specific cases, there have been instances where if someone has been improperly included for a supposed debt of €100, the affected person has received compensation of €10,000.
How can I get out of a credit blacklist?
Sometimes, settling the debt does not automatically remove a user from these lists. Other times, when the debt is incorrect, the processes tend to be tedious and even bothersome.
